In 2008, Mount Pleasant Baptist Church adopted the Muong People Group, a primarily animistic and unreached people group in Southeast Asia, as part of our long-term commitment to the Great Commission.
At that time, there were no known believers and no access to the Bible in their heart language. Since then, by God’s grace and through faithful partnerships with missionaries and translation teams, the Bible has now been translated into the Muong language—a major step in removing barriers to the gospel.
Mount Pleasant continues to pray, give, and partner so that one day, the Muong will no longer be considered unreached. We are committed to seeing a thriving, indigenous, gospel-centered church planted among them, and believe that the translated Scriptures will be key to seeing transformation take root.
We long for the day when Muong voices will be heard among the nations in worship before the throne, fulfilling the vision of Revelation 7:9.
